Electric Audi e-tron traveled 10 countries per dayAugust 26, 2019
Crossover covered almost 1700 kilometers in 24 hours
The Audi e-tron electric crossover managed to cover a distance of 1695 kilometers in 24 hours and drive through 10 different countries.
During the day, the car drove through the territory of Slovenia, Austria, Italy, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, France, Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium. The journey to the Netherlands has ended. Due to the fact that in all locations there was a diverse landscape, the participants of the run were able to experience the e-tron in different conditions.
Audi’s electric crossover overcame the hilly Alps, where it demonstrated the ability to recover energy on a descent: with a power of 220 kilowatts and a torque of 300 Nm, the car converted braking energy into electricity. And on the winding sections in Tirol, a system of “electric” all-wheel drive was connected, which distributes the moment between the axles depending on the road.
At 24 hours, it also included time to recharge the crossover. Due to the fact that the lithium-ion battery can be charged from direct current installations, it took about half an hour to recharge a charge of up to 80 percent. In total, the car took seven stops during the trip.
The Audi e-tron electric crossover was shown last fall. It is equipped with two electric motors with a total capacity of 360 horsepower, in overboost mode they give out 408 hp. The battery capacity is 95 kilowatt hours.
In early July, the owner of the Tesla Model 3 set a distance record for electric cars: in a day he managed to overcome 2781 kilometers on German roads. The driver was driving a Long Range modification with all-wheel drive and a range of 500 kilometers, and for the purity of the experiment, he tried not to break and drive according to road signs and speed limits.
