Dutch Donkervoort introduced extreme carbon roadsterOctober 24, 2019
A novelty called the D8 GTO-JD70 became a model released in honor of the 70th anniversary of the founder of the company Joop Donkervoorta. In addition, she also became the most powerful sports car in the brand line.
Donkervoort is a well-known company in the narrow circles specializing in the creation of track sports cars. In honor of the 70th anniversary of the founder, a new extreme roadster with a fully carbon body was introduced. The model is distinguished by the most powerful motor in the company’s lineup, high dynamics, as well as extreme lateral overloads in corners, reaching the 2g mark.
As a power unit, a 2.5-liter TFSI engine from Audi is used. Refinement and tuning involved Bosch. Now he is able to develop up to 420 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque. Moreover, this power falls on a 700 kilogram car. Thus, the specific power of the motor is about 600 horsepower per tonne of mass. Only a rare car can boast of such an indicator. Paired with a motor, a five-speed manual gearbox is installed.
The dynamic characteristics of the anniversary roadster were not disclosed. A less powerful version of the D8 GTO-40 is capable of accelerating to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, and the maximum speed is limited to 280 km / h.
The model will be released in a limited edition of 70 copies. The cost of each model will be from 163 636 euros
Meanwhile, a tracked electric roadster without a roof and doors is presented. The Bulgarian company Kinetik Automotive demonstrated its own debut model – the electric speedster Kinetik 07, which is based on the Caterham chassis.
