Dubai police add to Tesla Cybertruck’s already impressive parkNovember 28, 2019
Cars such as Aston Martin One-77, Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Aventador and many others are already in service with the UAE police.
Dubai Police is known for having a luxurious chase car park. Now they have announced on Twitter that the recently introduced Tesla Cybertruck will be his latest addition, and have even shown how such a police car might look like. Dubai Police Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al-Marri told reporters that a fully electric pickup truck will be used as a patrol car in places popular with tourists.
Among the features that could have caught police attention: Cybertruck is said to have “bulletproof” windows, and everything is equipped with an adjustable air suspension that can be raised or lowered on the go, providing up to 40 cm of ground clearance.
Cybertruck is not the only fast car Dubai police added this week. On Monday, the department announced that it will also acquire the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S, which will join the Aston Martin One-77, Bentley Continental GT, Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari FF, Lamborghini Aventador and others already in the fleet. Given the cost of such a fleet, the Dubai police budget is huge enough to buy the three-engine top version, which, according to Tesla, accelerates from zero to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds and offers as much as 800 km of power reserve.
Although Dubai police tweeted that the forces will receive Cybertruck in 2020, the US company did not promise to start production of the truck before the end of 2021, but at the same time accepts orders. The price for a single-engine pickup starts at $ 39,900, a twin-engine costs $ 49,900, and a version with three electric motors is estimated at a minimum of $ 69,900.
