Premium French company DS Automobiles was the only premium car manufacturer to fulfill the EU’s CO2 goals for 2021. The current lineup of the brand consists mainly of three available models for Europe – the Ds 3 Crossback and Ds7 Crossback crossovers, as well as the Ds9 sedan.
The European Commission has set the target for CO2 emissions of engines at 95 g / km, which DS has fulfilled, and the average value of its engines is only 79.9 g / km.
According to DS, no other premium car manufacturer could even reach 110 g / km.
In Europe, DS currently sells the DS 3 Crossback and DS 7 Crossback, which mainly have internal combustion engines adapted to Euro 6 standards, as well as hybrid and all-electric versions. The upcoming DS 9 sedan will also be available with a range of plug-in hybrid powertrains.
According to the French brand, by 2025 it will only offer electrified engines in its cars in order to further reduce CO2 emissions. The company claims that with the total transition to the use of all-electric motors, the experience gained by the DS Techeetah team while participating in Formula E electric car races was used. The team actually won the title in the 2018-2019 season.
