DS 8 sedan first noticed in testingSeptember 21, 2019
As expected, the manufacturer hid the details under tight camouflage, but it is noticeable that the dimensions of the DS 8 sedan put it at the top of the line. So far, a test mule has been released for testing. The name of the model is also not yet officially approved. It is assumed that in the European market it will be called DS 8, and in China, where a very similar test mule was seen, the name DS 9 was indicated in the back of the model.
Camouflage does not hide the front grille, which will receive impressive dimensions. It will be framed by small LED headlights. The roof line will only drop slightly towards the rear to provide enough space for passengers in the rear seat. The taillights are also LED. A dual exhaust system is integrated into the rear bumper. However, apparently, this is only a temporary solution. In the production version, it will be replaced with a different exhaust system.
Rumors claim that the DS 8 is built on the Peugeot-Citroën EMP2 platform, which the Peugeot 508 also uses. However, the main competitors of the DS sedan will be the Audi A6 and BMW 5 Series.
The DS 8 will go on sale in 2020. It will enter the markets of Europe and China. Version for the Asian market will receive a hybrid system with a turbocharged 1.6-liter gasoline engine. Power will be 200 hp (149 kW).
