Drag racing: Lexus LC500 2021 vs Toyota Supra A90 2020September 28, 2020
A video has been posted on YouTube that captures a straight race between the 2021 Lexus LC500 luxury sports coupe and the A90 generation Toyota Supra.
The powerful Japanese Lexus LC500 is taking part in today’s race in a straight line at speed. Powered by a naturally aspirated 470 horsepower V8 engine, this stylish coupe has everything you need to become a true sports car. At least “on paper”.
Against him is another car produced by Toyota (the premium Lexus brand belongs to Toyota).
It is the brand’s flagship sports car, the 2021 Supra Coupe. Under the hood of the car is a 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder twin-turbo engine with 382 hp, which is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Obviously there is a big difference in the power output of the two models, but as we all know, power is far from the most important thing when it comes to drag racing.
In the first race, the Supra driver uses the launch control function, and this ensures him an easy victory. In the second run, the Supra dispenses with the launch control system, but it doesn’t really change anything – the Supra is still significantly faster than the LC500.
But the third race is already much more interesting, since both cars came to the finish line almost simultaneously. Watch the video above to see which one is faster.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote about the race between the Chevy Corvette C8 and the Rolls-Royce Wraith. A video has been posted on the Hennessey Performance Youtube channel showing the race of two powerful coupes. One is the sporty C8 generation Chevy Corvette and the other is the luxurious Rolls-Royce Wraith. In fact, these are different cars with the same body type.
