Tuning studio Hennessey Performance decided to arrange a race between two powerful sports cars – the Chevy Corvette ZR1 and the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Both cars have approximately the same technical characteristics.

At least until a decent successor arrives, the C7 generation Chevy Corvette ZR1 remains the most powerful member of the Vette family. Its official top speed is 341 km / h, making it the fastest production Corvette to date.

Its current rival is the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.

It is worth noting that there are already quite a lot of similar videos on the Internet in which these two cars are participating. First, it’s worth talking about the technical characteristics of these cars.

The C7 generation Corvette ZR1 sports coupe is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that develops 755 horsepower (969 Nm). The Mustang Shelby GT500 is technically very similar to the Chevy car, with a smaller 5.2-liter supercharged V8 under the hood that delivers up to 760 hp. (847 Nm). The result is similar in power, but the Vette still has an advantage.

On the other hand, the C7 is over 226.8kg lighter than the GT500, so there is a catch. The video embedded in the top of the screen shows a fast race between these powerful cars. Both cars are in the standard (stock) version, neither the engines nor the suspension have been changed. At the end of the video, the guys from Hennessey Performance said they were going to increase the power of these cars to an impressive 1000 hp.
