Dongfeng working on new Forthing SX5G coupeSeptember 8, 2020
The Chinese automaker is going to present the newest car Forthing SX5G coupe at the November Guangzhou Motor Show.
Dongfeng will unveil the new SX5G coupe crossover on November 22. The novelty will be sold under the Forthing brand. Details about the future debutant are still kept secret, but there is already something to see. The first sketches, renders and spy shots of the SX5G can be found online.
The cross-coupe gets a rather catchy appearance with narrow DRLs, a massive grille, deep stampings and angular shapes. At the stern we see the twin tailpipes of the exhaust system. It could be a hint of a powerful motor. In the interior of the cross-coupe, the central part is occupied by a pair of screens, the central tunnel looks no less impressive.
The engine range of the coupe-like novelty is expected to include petrol turbo engines: 1.5-liter 156-horsepower and 1.8-liter with 165 hp. Together with them, the 6-speed manual gearbox and the variator work.
Perhaps the novelty will get a 1.6-liter 204-horsepower “turbo four”, combined with a robotic gearbox.
In the meantime, photos of the new MG crossover were shown on the Web. The car was named Linghang. According to one of the versions, the novelty will replace the MG HS crossover, and in another version, both cars will be present in the model line together.
