Dongfeng launches Voyah luxury EV brandJuly 20, 2020
The Chinese auto giant has created a new premium brand that will specialize in all-electric and hybrid vehicles. In Chinese, the name of the new brand sounds like Lantu, in English – Voyah
Very often, automakers create separate sub-brands for the production of expensive and prestigious cars. So, Great Wall got the Wey brand, and FAW got Hongqi. Another Chinese auto giant, Dongfeng, followed suit. He created a separate luxury brand for the Lantu / Voyah eco-friendly cars.
The new company already has a clear development plan: in the next decade, it will introduce ten car innovations. They plan to focus on crossovers and minivans. The debut model of the brand in a serial body will leave next year. The Lantu / Voyah models will be produced by the Wuhan plant, which previously produced Renault cars.
As for the cost of cars of the new brand, in the local media you can find a range of 200 – 350 thousand yuan. Currently, the maximum price tag for Dongfeng models is 140 thousand yuan.
Dongfeng promises to tell more about the new brand next week, July 29.
Meanwhile, Haval has unveiled a new brand logo. Last time he changed the design quite recently – in January 2019. The brand emblem of the brand has lost its dark gray backing and added in size. All new models of the Chinese automaker will try on such a logo.
