Dongfeng began to produce electric pickupsJuly 16, 2019
The company introduced two “green” models.
In the line of the Chinese brand Dongfeng appeared two electric pickup. The older model is based on Ruijing 6, the legal “copy” of Nissan Navara and its derivatives: Renault Alaskan and Mercedes-Benz X-Class. For the youngest, the Rich generation model of the past generation was taken as a basis.
Dongfeng Ruijing 6 EV is equipped with a 120-kilowatt electric motor (163 hp and 420 Nm of torque) and a traction battery with a capacity of 67.9 kilowatt-hours. Declared power reserve per charge of 402 kilometers on the NEDC cycle. Filling the battery from the high-speed terminal to 80 percent will take 45 minutes. The maximum speed that Ruijing 6 EV is capable of developing is 110 kilometers per hour. Ground clearance – 180 mm.
Simultaneously with Ruijing 6 EV, production of more affordable Rich EV is launched. It is based on the previous generation pickup, has a ground clearance of 185 millimeters and is equipped with batteries with a capacity of 62.7 kilowatt-hours. The power reserve of the Rich EV is 305 kilometers, and the maximum speed is only 100 kilometers per hour. The electric motor of the SUV produces 116 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque.
American Rivian also produces pickups, but their characteristics are much more impressive. The R1T model has a ground clearance of 360 millimeters, is equipped with four electric motors and is able to tow a trailer weighing up to 3500 kilograms. Acceleration from standstill to 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) takes three seconds for the R1T, and mileage without recharging is 640 kilometers.
