Dodge Launches Charger GT AWD in 2020December 12, 2019
The sedan will debut in the GT version with all-wheel drive at the beginning of next year.
The current generation Charger received facelift in 2015, although technically this is a 2011 car. However, sales statistics indicate that the sedan is still in demand among buyers. Despite the fact that sedan prices in the U.S. are falling due to an almost twofold reduction in sales, Dodge dealers managed to sell a record number of Charger in 2019. It is worth noting that this indicator is more than for the whole decade.
“Most people think of Charger and Challenger as high-performance muscle cars, which they clearly are, but they can also be AWD performance year-round cars,” – said Tim Kuniskis of FCA. “Only Dodge offers cars that combine practicality and all-weather driving confidence without sacrificing the muscular attitude of the car.”
These words are true, because Charger GT can boast of the appearance of a muscle car. The exterior is distinguished by the presence of a large hood, spoiler and characteristic wheels. Now, the all-wheel drive version of Charger GT will also be available. Previously, this was only available when choosing an entry-level SXT model.
Despite the brutal appearance, under the hood of the car there is still a 3.6-liter V6 connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Power Charger GT is 300 hp and 358 Nm of torque. The introduction of all-wheel drive can adversely affect the dynamics due to increased weight.
The new 2020 model year Dodge Charger GT AWD will be offered from $ 34,995 with a tax charge of $ 1,495. Acceptance of pre-orders will begin in the first quarter of 2020.
