Dodge Durango updated and received the most powerful versionJuly 3, 2020
Crossover Dodge Durango, which outside the US market did not receive much fame, underwent a second thorough modernization. Crossover not only noticeably “refreshed”, but also received a powerful version of the SRT Hellcat.
The outwardly updated crossover began to look more brutal: the radiator grill replaced the traditional cross with a grid of small cells, other bumpers appeared, the spoiler on the fifth door grew, and the LED optics became narrower.
A redesigned front panel appeared in the SUV, the center console is now turned to the driver, and the new multimedia received a touchscreen and began to work faster. The engine range of the Dodge Durango remains the same: a 3.6-liter 299-hp aspirated engine and a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine with 365 hp. Both engines are combined with 8-speed automatic transmission, the drive can be rear or full.
For the all-wheel drive version of the Dodge Durango SRT, the Hemi V8 6.4 engine with a return of 482 hp is relevant. Now, the crossover has an even more productive option – SRT Hellcat. The developers themselves call such a cross the most powerful serial SUV in the world. He gets a 720-horsepower Hemi V8 6.2 engine with a screw compressor. For comparison, Lamborghini Urus gives out 650 hp. The engine is combined with a reinforced “automatic” eight steps. Such a cross accelerates to 97 km / h in just 3.5 seconds, and its maximum speed is 290 km / h. In addition, Hellcat is not far behind other all-wheel drive Durango and can tow a trailer weighing up to 3,950 kilograms. From the previous SRT version, Hellcat can be distinguished by additional air ducts in the front bumper. Also, a powerful new product relies on an upgraded suspension, improved Brembo brakes, etc. The “charged” Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat will be sold between early 2021 and mid-summer. Other modifications of the updated Durango will appear in the United States in the fall of 2020.
