Dodge Demon received a 1 000-hp pumping from HennesseyMay 1, 2018
The tuned muscle car in the “demonic” performance is able to score the first “hundred” in less than 2 seconds.
Hennessey Performance specializes in tuning American cars and another project is no exception. The last project of the studio is based on the extreme Dodge Demon coupe, which was released by the manufacturer especially for fans of drag racing. After the tuning, the power of the coupe increased to 1,000 hp.
Recall, the Dodge Demon is equipped with a compressor V8 Hemi capacity of 6.2 liters, the return is 840 hp. and 1,044 Nm of torque. In this configuration, the car can accelerate from zero to 96 km / h in 2.3 seconds, and a quarter mile passes in 9.65 seconds.
In Hennessey Performance, they found such results unsatisfactory and prepared the HPE1000 package for the Demon. First, the firm published a video with a car on a dynamometer stand, where the recoil of 880 hp was recorded. and 1,092 Nm of torque. Taking into account the 20% loss of the transmission, the return of the car on the crankshaft is 1,056 hp. and 1 311 Nm, which exceeds the standard capacity of 216 hp.
What improvements have been made to increase the power is not reported. With such an increase in power, it is logical to expect improvement in the dynamics. It’s there – the tuned Dodge Demon HPE1000 went quarter mile in 9.38 seconds, but more interesting and important, the 0-96 km / h acceleration was performed in just 1.93 seconds.
By the way, Dodge Challenger for several years sells well in the US with virtually no decline in sales. So, for example, in 2015, 66 365 cars were sold, in 2016 – 64 478 units, and in 2017 the sales volume was 64 537 units. For comparison, Ford Mustang sold 81 866 cars last year (105,932 pieces a year earlier), while Chevrolet Camaro owners became 67,940 people (72,705 in 2016).
