Dodge built an insane Challenger SRT Hellcat: 808 hp and fuel consumption of five liters per minuteJune 28, 2018
The company Dodge introduced the updated family of the Challenger sports car, in which there was a new 808-hp (958 Nm) modification called Redeye. It became the top model of the model – its manufacturer calls “the most powerful, fast and dynamic” mass serial muscle car.
According to the head of Dodge Steve Beam, for the new hardcore version Challenger – SRT Hellcat Redeye – in the company combined the advantages of Hellcat and 852-hp Demon. The car received an upgraded version of the same 6.2-liter eight-cylinder engine with a mechanical supercharger as the Demon, as well as an eight-speed automatic transmission with an enhanced torque converter.
In the engine, 25 parts were refined: a new supercharger, reinforced pistons and connecting rods, another gas distribution mechanism and a fuel system. Also, the lubrication system was improved, the boost pressure was increased (from 11.6 to 14.5 psi), and the “red zone” was increased from 6200 to 6500 rpm.
From zero to 96 kilometers per hour SRT Hellcat Redeye accelerates in 3.4 seconds. Dragging distance in a quarter of a mile (402 meters) the car will pass in 10.8 seconds, while the speed at the end of the distance will be 211 kilometers per hour. The coupe in this discipline will be 1.15 seconds slower than the Demon. The maximum speed of the novelty is 327 kilometers per hour.

At the maximum acceleration of SRT Hellcat Redeye consumes 5.4 liters of fuel per minute – in this mode the tank will empty in 11 minutes. At the same time, according to official specifications, the consumption of gasoline in the country cycle is 13 liters per hundred kilometers.
“Normal” SRT Hellcat, equipped with the same engine 6.2 V8, now gives out 10 forces more – 727 forces. The model can be identified by a new hood with two air intakes (there used to be one) in the style of the classic Dart Swinger 1970 and Demon 1971.
The coupe can be ordered with a widebody-body kit, due to which the body width will increase by 89 millimeters. In this case, the car will also receive 20-inch wheels with Pirelli P-Zero tires of dimension 305/35. For a surcharge will be available and black matt rear spoiler.
The equipment includes adaptive suspension, six-piston Brembo brakes, launcher control and a Line Lock function that blocks the contour of the front brakes with the bellowouts.
All customers of the Challenger SRT Hellcat line will be given the opportunity to undergo training at the Dodge Driving School during one day, as well as to ride a race track under the guidance of professional pilots.
