Atelier Specialty Vehicle Engineering revealed the characteristics of the “charged” versions of the Chevrolet Camaro with an open roof. Which will be released in limited quantities and sold through Chevrolet dealers in the United States.
Specialty Vehicle Engineering specialists will increase the performance of convertibles in the same way as the coupe. The basis will be the current Camaro SS with a 6.2-liter V8 power unit with 461 horsepower (617 Nm of torque). The working volume of the installation will be increased to 6.8 liters, in addition, a drive supercharger will be installed, the cooling system will be completely revised. After the intervention of the motorists, the return will increase to 1013 horsepower.
Unlike the coupe, which was offered with a 6-speed manual transmission, for the convertible they will retain a 10-speed automatic transmission, which will be strengthened, because on machines with a manual transmission the torque reached 1185 Nm.
Adaptive suspension Magnetic Ride Control and electronically controlled differential will be retuned, the brakes will be replaced by Brembo mechanisms with the inscription Yenko. Visually forced convertible can be recognized by the protruding “hump” of the hood and custom wheels, made in retrodesign.
The circulation of 1013-horsepower convertibles and the 2020 model year coupe will be limited to 25 copies. Cars will be sold in Chevrolet showrooms, but there is no price list yet.
