Diesel Honda Civic first time received automatic transmissionJuly 25, 2018
Diesel hatchback Honda Civic, presented in the European market, for the first time received an automatic transmission. The model was equipped with a nine-speed transmission, which, depending on the speed and position of the throttle, can quickly skip several gears when switching down.
The hatchback is equipped with a 1.6-liter diesel unit i-DTEC with a new turbine with variable geometry. The engine produces 120 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque.
In conjunction with the nine-speed automatic transmission it allows the Civic to accelerate to 100 km/h in 11 seconds and spend an average of 4.1 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers of track.
In addition to the diesel, Honda Civic engines have a 1.0 and 1.5 liter VTEC Turbo turbo engine. The power of the units is 126 (200 Nm and 180 Nm) and 182 horsepower (240 Nm of torque for machines with manual transmission, 220 Nm with a variator), respectively. Machines with a liter engine accelerate to 100 km/h for 10.8 (MT) or 10.6 seconds (CVT), with a 1.5-liter – in 8.2 seconds.
