The Audi Q3 crossover assembly was set up at its production facilities – and the plant’s employees coped with this task superbly, ”commented the start of serial production A1 Peter Kösler, a member of the board of directors for production and logistics of the German brand Audi.

“The plant received the most modern equipment. Therefore, it is an ideal place to produce the new Audi A1, one of those models that we have high hopes for, at least in the compact car segment. ”

It is reported that the production of a new generation A1 Sportback will be organized in 2 shifts in 3 lines of the plant. The car will be produced together with the current generation of Spanish models SEAT Ibiza and Arona. It is noteworthy that all these cars actually use the same modular platform MQB A0. In a recent interview dedicated to the start of production of the German 5-door hatchback, representatives of the Spanish company said that their engineers were directly involved in the preparation of the enterprise’s capacities for the start of the Audi A1 assembly.

“Audi A1 will be produced in accordance with the highest quality standards, which confirms the interest of the management of the German Audi Group in the Spanish factory as a strategic place for the production of its models,” added Christian Vollmer, vice president for production and logistics.
