According to official information published by the press service of the Czech brand, the new generation of high-performance Octavia RS will receive a 241 hp gasoline engine. and diesel for 197 hp The car will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
Skoda officially announced that the fourth-generation Octavia RS with a plug-in hybrid powerplant will be unveiled early next month at the Geneva Motor Show. Although the Czech brand has not said a word about models with traditional gasoline and diesel engines, we now know that similar versions of the new product will appear shortly after the debut of the electrified Octavia RS, which will receive the iV prefix.
Skoda Austria’s internal marketing document appeared on the Internet and thanks to it we learn that the Octavia RS with a 2.0-liter TSI engine will offer 241 hp. The gasoline version of the new product will be available both with a standard six-speed manual transmission and an additional seven-speed automatic transmission. Sales of both versions of the “charged” model are scheduled for late August this year.
The diesel version of the model will receive a 2.0 TDI engine with 197 hp, and will work with a seven-speed DSG. Interestingly, there are no signs of an all-wheel drive version of the car, although we hope that it will appear later. Meanwhile, the diesel version will also go on sale in late August.
A document submitted by the marketing department of Skoda Austria says that the plug-in hybrid version of the new product will be on the market in early June, and the presentation of such a performance will take place in Geneva next month. In addition to the electrified model, we will also be shown an entry-level TSI gasoline performance of 108 hp. and a six-speed manual gearbox, as well as a soft-hybrid version of the same three-cylinder engine connected to the seven-speed DSG gearbox.
In late August, RS models will hit the market along with the all-wheel-drive 2.0 TSI Octavia, which offers 197 bhp, and a seven-speed DSG.
The official presentation of the high-performance Octavia RS in the plug-in hybrid version of the iV will debut on March 3 at the Geneva Motor Show.
