Details about the engine range of the “charged” Ford F-150 Raptor 2021January 23, 2021
According to published data, the new generation of the high-performance Ford F-150 Raptor pickup truck will be equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine as standard.
Very soon we will be presented with an updated version of the “charged” Ford F-150 Raptor, which is likely to receive new technologies and an updated look. The car will debut in early February. But one thing won’t change: the standard, powerful 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine will also be offered to buyers. That’s exactly what the leaked Ford dealer ordering guide says. By the way, in the same document, the body colors of the flagship Ford pickup of the 2021 model year were presented.
Early rumors suggested that the 2021 Raptor would offer buyers a V8 engine, either a 5.0-liter Coyote powerplant from the standard F-150, or a supercharged version of the 5.2-liter V8 from the Mustang GT500 sports coupe.
Of course, there is no guarantee that one of these engines will not appear later in the F-150 Raptor’s lifecycle, but for now it looks like the high-performance EcoBoost will be the only engine available.
The turbocharged V6 from the outgoing Raptor makes 450 horsepower (691 Nm). EcoBoost also suffers from a small turbo pit. He is not very popular.
Of course, if Ford decides to offer an optional engine for the 2021 Raptor, they could ditch the V8 and offer a PowerBoost hybrid instead. In this case, the standard 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine will run with an electric motor integrated into a 10-speed transmission. Hybrid PowerBoost produces not small 430 hp. power and (773 Nm) in a conventional F-150, and in a more powerful Raptor, its power can exceed 500 “horses”.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote about the onboard Ford F-150 Raptor with 750 hp. The American tuning company PaxPower has unveiled an upgraded version of the full-size Ford F-150 Raptor truck. In addition to numerous changes in appearance, in particular the onboard cargo platform, the car boasts a 750-horsepower supercharged engine.
