Designer Jorge Dies moved from Audi and Seat to MitsubishiJuly 2, 2019
Car painter will take the post of head of the division of a Japanese company in the European Union.
Jorge Diez will head Mitsubishi Motors Europe Design, and at the same time he will become vice president of MRDE – Mitsubishi Motor R & D. The first company was founded in 2014 and actively cooperates with the largest design studios located in the Japanese capital and Okazaki. In these cities, developing concept projects and design of serial machines for the car market in Europe.
At one time, Dies graduated from the College of Art in the English capital and worked for 18 years as a senior designer in Germany for the Volkswagen Group (from 2001–10). Later, in 2011, he headed the exterior design department at Seat. And in 2014, he managed Concept Design Munich at Audi. It was under his leadership that many models were developed, among which were the Audi A7 Sportback, the TT, and the Seat Leon.
The head of the European design department, Zunehiro Kunimoto, said that he was pleased with this addition to his team. According to the top manager, Dies combines leadership qualities with strategic thinking.
