The web has photos of the concept electric crossover BMW iNEXT, designed to demonstrate the vision of the transport of the future. Representatives of the media prototype will show an unusual way – in the framework of the BMW Vision iNext World Flight.
The commercial version of BMW iNEXT, whose debut is scheduled for 2021, will be the second after the iX3 electrified fifth-generation BMW. According to the chairman of the board of directors of BMW AG Harald Kruger, the model will unite all key technologies of the future: electric power plant, permanent connection to the Network and the possibility of autonomous control.
The novelty is called BMW iNext and in overall dimensions will surpass iX3, which will go on sale in 2020. According to unofficial data, the power reserve of the novelty will vary depending on the version. So, without recharging iNext can travel from 450 to 700 km.
The power of the top version of the electric car can be up to 800 hp. In addition, the car will receive the function of autonomous driving. However, details about the unmanned system are still kept secret.
The premiere of the BMW iNext will take place on board a Boeing 777°F plane from Lufthansa, which will depart from Munich to New York, and then travel to Frankfurt via San Francisco and Beijing.
According to the strategic development plan, by 2025 BMW intends to produce 25 new electrified models. Of these, twelve will be clean electric cars. Top “battery” cars will be equipped with installations with a capacity of more than 800 horsepower. From zero to 100 kilometers per hour, they can accelerate in less than three seconds.
In September 2017, the electric prototype BMW i Vision Dynamics debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show. From a place to 100 km/h the concept car was dispersed for four seconds. Power reserve – 600 kilometers. The maximum speed of the machine is over 200 kilometers per hour.
