Demand for Toyota Camry began to fall: production will be reducedNovember 18, 2018
Representatives of the company Toyota have reported a decrease in demand from the company’s best seller, the Camry sedan, in the US market. As a result, production can be reduced.
Toyota intends to reduce the production of new-generation Camry sedans due to falling demand. We are still talking only about the North American market, where until recently the Toyota Camry was a bestseller among passenger cars of the brand. According to a recently published Bloomberg report, the demand for a sedan falls annually by 5-6%. This trend may lead to the closure of one of the three assembly lines at the company’s plant in America. The decline in demand for the sedan is due to the constant increase in the crossover segment.
Apparently, the third assembly line will be reequipped for the production of a new crossover model from the company. At least, this is the trend we have been witnessing over the past few years. There is no talk of abandoning the Camry, and in Europe demand remains stable without sharp jumps.
In the meantime, Toyota introduced special versions of its Camry TRD and Avalon TRD models, characterized by an aggressive design, a modified interior trim, but with previous units.
