Defenture 4×4 or SUV, ready to work in any conditionsOctober 6, 2019
A military vehicle developed in the Netherlands can work with multiple sources of fuel. If you want, you can make various vehicles from it – a combat SUV with impressive firepower or a medical car.
Modern vehicles for the military or police must fully comply with even the highest safety standards. These vehicles are required to withstand bullets, be able to ride on a fierce off-road, and also be autonomous – to provide their passengers with everything necessary for a long period of time. They should also be able to adapt to rapidly changing situations, which is called “on the fly,” taking on various roles depending on the current mission – for example, providing firepower to cover troops or becoming a truck.
A very interesting video on the JWW YouTube channel talks about an unusual SUV, which received the designation Defenture GRF 5.12. This all-wheel drive vehicle, which was developed in the Netherlands, can be used in the most difficult conditions.
Designed entirely from scratch as a military vehicle, Defenture is not based on any existing production car platform. So, the machine, which is based on a modular “truck”, can work with several types of fuel, and is also equipped with reliable suspension, extreme departure angles and even four-wheel steering for better maneuverability and optimal handling in various dangerous “zones”. According to the creators of this masterpiece, GRF 5.12 can be easily transformed from the role of a combat vehicle into an ambulance carriage, into a pickup truck, and even into a full-fledged truck. The machine is also equipped with points for installing weapons and various suspension points when the vehicle is transported by land, air or sea.
Despite the fact that the engine power is just over 200 horsepower, the GFR 5.12 machine weighs 2494 kg and can carry 2131 kg. The maximum range is 965 km.
