David Coulthard will own a Mercedes-AMG and Aston Martin hypercarMay 3, 2019
Previously, the family of hypercars was represented only by Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder, Bugatti Chiron and Bugatti Divo, as well as models Koenigsegg and Pagani. Now at least two more models will be added to them.
And if the Koenigsegg Jesko became known relatively recently, then the Aston Martin Valkyrie and Mercedes-AMG One were announced a long time ago. And both cars based on Formula 1 has already ordered a David Coulthard.
The circulation of the Aston Martin Valkyrie will be only 150 copies, and the Mercedes-AMG One will make only a little more – 275 cars. Buying each car is associated with a long negotiation process, but the Scottish rider was lucky to go through all the obstacles and place an order for both cars, which the athlete confirmed in an interview with Goodwood Road and Racing.
“I ordered the Valkyrie and ordered the Project One, so now I’m on standby with both cars,” said Coulthard. “I ordered Aston Martin because of Adrian Newy, who I worked with at Williams, McLaren and Red Bull, winning several races on his cars. I ordered the Mercedes-AMG because I work with Mercedes-Benz.
I think Valkyrie will be something special from the point of view of aerodynamics, because over it works Newey, and Project One is a celebration of German engineering, because they installed the Formula 1 engine in a road car. “
In the last years of his career in Formula 1, David performed in Red Bull Racing, which helps Aston Martin in working on Aston Martin. In addition, Coulthard spent 9 seasons in Formula 1 at McLaren, who collaborated with Mercedes-Benz, and then played for the German mark for DTM for 3 years and was the brand ambassador for several years.
