Daniel Riccardo organizes his own carting championshipJanuary 11, 2019
In 2014, the Australian Formula 1 racer presented a project of its own karts, and in 2019 plans to organize a competition called Daniel Ricciardo Series UK or DRS.
The new championship will be held in the UK and consist of eight stages, in which young riders from 6 years old can take part. Therefore, the race will be divided into three classes: children from 6 to 13 years old will compete on machines with an engine capacity of 62 cu. cm; from 11 to 16 years – 100 cu. cm; those who are more than 15 years old will ride the DRS125, whose power will be 28 hp
Addressing potential participants and their parents, Riccardo said that his karting series is causing quite a lot of interest. Already received a lot of applications for participation in 2019.
“Autosport International opens in Birmingham this week, which will also feature our stand. Here we will hold a competition, the winner of which will be awarded a chance to become a participant of DRS-2019. In addition, he will have the opportunity to test our map. ”
Daniel also added that he would not be in Birmingham at the time of the competition. He will be replaced by assistants, whom he advises to contact on any issue. The championship itself starts in April, and finishes in November.
