Daimler moves to a new organizational structureNovember 5, 2019
The German concern was reorganized from the beginning of November.
Since November 1 of this year, a reorganization has taken place in the German Daimler concern and has entered into force. So, under the parent company Daimler AG there are now three joint-stock companies that are legally independent: Mercedes-Benz AG, Daimler Truck AG, and Daimler Mobility AG.
Now Mercedes-Benz AG is solely responsible for cars and light vehicles, in particular for their development, production and subsequent implementation. This division worldwide employs 175 thousand employees, and the head of the division is Ola Kallenius.
The second – Daimler Truck AG, accumulates the global business of the group, which is associated with buses and trucks. This unit has approximately 100 thousand employees. The direction is Martin Daum.
In turn, Daimler Mobility AG aims to work with financing, leasing, insurance and fleet management services for the entire Daimler AG group. Previously, this direction was called Daimler Financial Services, but since July of this year it is also responsible for mobility services and at that stage it was renamed. Despite the fact that this unit is small and its staff is 13 thousand employees, important business areas are concentrated here.
