Cupra will release seven new models by 2021November 20, 2018
The newly created SEAT brand Cupra Performance may be just at the beginning of its journey as an independent company, but it already has very ambitious plans to create a full-fledged line of models.
Antonio Labate, Director of Business Development for Cupra, announced that by 2021 they intend to launch seven new models. This list will include a limited version of Ateca, but it is not necessary that all Cupra models will be the sports version of the SEAT models.
At the moment, Cupra, allocated to an independent company at the beginning of this year, has already introduced two models – Ateca and the concept e-Racer. Although the latter will not be released into mass production, Ateca will be available to order in the coming weeks.
Under the hood, Ateca has a turbocharged 2-liter 4-cylinder engine for 296 hp and 400 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed automatic with dual clutch and front-wheel drive. Acceleration of the crossover to a hundred will take only 5.2 seconds, and the maximum speed will be 245 km / h.
The Cupra’s next model after Ateca should be the charged version of the compact SEAT Leon hatchback, and the Cupra Tarraco and Cupra Arona crossovers will go on sale in the coming years. In addition, the company is working on a special crossover, the details and the name of which has not yet been reported.
