Cupra unveils its first Tavascan with three electric motorsSeptember 2, 2019
The debut of the concept of the Tavascan coupe crossover will be organized at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The show car got its name in honor of a ski resort located near the French border in Catalonia.
The new Spanish brand Cupra, formerly a former Seat division, will bring the Tavascan concept of a sports electric cross-country to the Frankfurt Motor Show. This is the first all-electric Cupra. The automaker equipped the novelty immediately with three electric motors, one of which is located on the rear axle, and the other two on the front. Their total return reaches 306 horsepower, and a set of lithium-ion batteries is responsible for their performance. The first hundred Cupra Tavascan picks up in just 6.5 seconds, and on a single charge it can travel up to 450 kilometers.
The appearance of the novelty with a coupe-shaped profile turned out to be harmonious and stylish: a large radiator grill with an original pattern, predatory optics, a corporate logo with backlight, spectacular 22-inch wheels and retractable door handles.
The Tavascan trim used leather, Alcantara and carbon. On the front panel are two large screens: digital dashboard and multimedia. The display of the latter can be moved towards the passenger. But the developers have built-in speakers into the seats. In general, Cupra Tavascan is based on a modular architecture for MEB electric cars. The same basis, by the way, is the concept Audi Q4 e-tron. Is it worth waiting for the release of new items in the series – is not yet known.
We will remind, earlier it became known that the new Cupra Formentor will appear on the market in 2020. It is expected that the production version of the sports crossover will be largely similar to the concept.
