Cupra revealed the interior of the first electric carAugust 22, 2019
The Seat sports division, the Cupra brand, continues to publish teasers of its first electric car. This time, the manufacturer showed the interior design news.
In the image you can see a digital dashboard, a multifunctional sports steering wheel covered in Alcantara, and with a highlighted Cupra logo in the middle. The decoration includes copper-colored inserts on the door cards and carbon fiber elements: for example, side mirror housings and the upper part of the door are made of it.
The manufacturer describes the new product as a “four-door crossover with a coupe-like body.” Cupra promises to show a show car that will receive “emotional design” and “advanced technology.” The company did not disclose any more details.
It is known that the new concept will be completely electric – this will be the first production model of the brand running on batteries. There are no details about the power plant either. The basis, as expected, will form the global MEB platform for electric cars from Volkswagen.
To date, the company’s lineup includes the all-wheel drive station wagon Leon Cupra R ST with a two-liter turbo engine with 300 horsepower and a Formentor hybrid crossover with a 245-horsepower benzoelectric power plant.
According to the plan for 2020, the Cupra line should be replenished immediately with four new models. Among them, Formentor, which has already officially been presented to the public, the new Cupra Leon and its “charged” version, as well as a certain car under the name Special Model – it is likely that its brand will show on September 2 in anticipation of a public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
