Crossover Volkswagen T-Roc Convertible tests on the roadJune 20, 2019
The premiere of the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet, which will receive a two-door body and a soft top, will be held in 2019
A video appeared on the Internet showing a prototype of a new version of the Volkswagen T-Roc crossover – with an open body. The premiere of the car will be held in 2019, and sales of new items should start a year later.
In October 2018, the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet was first seen during a road test. Judging by the spy shots, the cross-cabriolet will get a two-door body and a soft top. As expected, the car will only be available with front-wheel drive, as in a version with four drive wheels it would have too much weight due to the folding roof mechanism.
According to preliminary data, the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet engine will include a 1.5-liter turbo-four with a capacity of 150 hp, as well as a 190-horsepower two-liter unit. The transmissions are six-speed manual or seven-speed robotized gearbox with two clutches.
The T-Roc Cabriolet will be the only open model in the Volkswagen lineup, as the automaker discontinued the Golf Cabriolet and Beetle Convertible in 2016 and 2018 respectively. It is assumed that the new product will be primarily focused on the European market.
