SEAT Arona TGI is a special modification of the Spanish compact crossover. In addition to conventional gasoline, the car can also travel on natural gas. According to the representatives of the company, using all available types of fuel, the novelty can travel a distance of 560 kilometers from the fully filled tanks.

After a week ago, the Czech car company Skoda introduced an eco-friendly version of the updated Octavia – the car received a prefix to the name G-TEC, the German automotive concern Volkswagen AG decided to tell about the SEAT Arona TGI. First, we note that the Czech brand Skoda and the Spanish company SEAT are part of Volkswagen AG. SEAT Arona TGI is an eco-friendly version of the crossover, which can move both on gasoline and on natural gas.

Now, in the model range of the Spanish automaker there are already 4 eco-friendly models – besides the crossover, these are sedans SEAT Mii, Ibiza and Leon. According to the representatives of the company, the main task of the new Arona TGI is to provide better fuel efficiency than those cars that run on gasoline, diesel fuel and even liquid petroleum gas

Like the environmentally “harmful” version of the crossover SEAT Arona, its new version with the TGI has under its hood a 3-cylinder 1.0-liter petrol engine rated at 89 hp (The “ceiling” of torque is 160 Nm). These figures may not seem too great, but we must understand that Arona TGI was built to ensure the best efficiency of fuel consumption, rather than setting speed records. As a transmission, a 6-speed manual gearbox is offered. According to official data, from 0 to 100 km / h the crossover can be accelerated in 12.8 seconds, and its maximum speed will be 172 km / h.

The Spanish novelty received 3 cylinders with liquefied natural gas. It is reported that only on this gas, the car can travel a distance of 400 km. After the gas reserves in the cylinders run out, the car automatically switches to gasoline – in this case the crossover can travel another 160 km. In general, the SEAT Arona TGI can drive a full tank (gas and gas) of 560 km.

Not so long ago, journalists of our automobile publication wrote that the first image of Seat Tarraco Cupra R. appeared on the web.
