Crossover Nissan, created under the recipe Renault Kaptur: premiere in OctoberSeptember 26, 2018
Cross Nissan Kicks introduced in 2016, the “SUV” is already sold in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, the US, Canada and China. In January 2019, the model will go on sale in India, but the premiere will be released next month: according to local media, Indian Kicks will make its debut on October 18.
The crossover designed for India will differ from the model available in other countries. So, the global SUV is built on the V platform of the alliance Renault-Nissan (it also underlies the current Nissan Note and Pulsar). The Indian version was transferred to the platform B0, which is based on Renault Duster, the local version of Renault Captur and Nissan Terrano. By the way, Renault also did the same with Kapture – if in Russia, India and some South American countries they sell the model on the platform B0, then in Europe there is a crossover built on the basis of the Clio hatch.
The first sketches of the Indian Kicks Nissan company circulated a couple of weeks ago. Completely to consider the design of the model in pictures is still impossible – many details are simply not drawn. Of the visible differences – other bumpers. It is known that the Kicks intended for India will be slightly larger than the global crossover: the length will be increased to about 4.4 meters. At SUV segment this parameter is equal 4295 mm. The width of the global Kicks is 1760 mm, the height is 1590 mm, the wheelbase is 2620 mm.
It is expected that in India the crossover will be offered with motors from the local Renault Duster / Captur – a petrol engine H4K 1.5 with a power of 106 hp. and diesel K9K 1.5 dCi with a return of 110 hp. New to Nissan, they say manual transmission and variator. In China, Nissan Kicks can be bought with an atmospheric 1.5 family HR with 125 hp, in North America and the South American market the model is available with a 1.6 petrol engine of the same HR series (114-125 hp depending on the country) . Drive the global cross – only the front. The Indian Kicks also, probably, will have only a front-wheel drive version, although the platform B0 and admits the presence of a 4×4 version.
For India, the model will be released at the local Nissan plant (the crossover is still being assembled in Brazil, Mexico, China and Malaysia). Earlier it was reported that there Kicks will be more expensive than the Terrano (from 999 900 rupees), but now the Indian media believe that the price of new items will be lower than that of a colleague – somewhere from 940 000 rupees. However, it is possible that with the advent of Kicks crossover Terrano will leave this market, because the sales of the “twin” Duster in India and so rapidly fall: in 2017, 3035 units were sold, while a year earlier – 4,717 copies, and in 2015 – more than 10 000 pieces. For comparison, Renault Duster (from 795,000 rupees) in 2017 sold in India in a total of 15,158 copies.
