Crossover Lexus NX new generation showed on the first rendersFebruary 12, 2021
Independent designers decided that the Japanese crossover Lexus will retain the recognizable style of the model when the generation changes.
7 years ago, the Japanese premium brand Lexus decided to fill a gap in its lineup and launched the compact Lexus NX crossover. Moreover, until 2018, the demand for a car only grew, but plummeted in 2020. At the same time, the automaker is already working on a new generation of the compact crossover, as evidenced by spy shots. Taking these as a basis, independent designers have created a render showing the appearance of the new crossover.
Despite the fact that many of the details are hidden by dense camouflage, we managed to see some details. However, it looks like the crossover got an evolutionary design in the spy photos, and it was this idea that was developed on the renders. As reported by 32cars.ru, citing Motor.es, the car will retain the brand’s controversial grille. The stylized air intakes, which are pushed towards the lower corners of the bumper, are located under the thin slits of the headlights. The side profile also retains the look of the current crossover.
The artists did not undertake to guess how the interior of the novelty will look, but it is expected that it will also change greatly – the touchscreen of the infotainment system can grow up to 14 inches. The rendering does not show the rear, which is likely to be similar to the current model, but buyers should expect at least updated taillights and a new bumper design.
Journalists report that the new generation Lexus NX will borrow the TNGA-K platform from the Toyota RAV4 crossover. it is possible that along with it, the premium crossover will get a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The NX could also get the RAV4 Prime hybrid powertrain.
