Crossover Ford Mondeo photographed during testsOctober 30, 2019
The car got into the pictures with a slight layer of camouflage. Appearance of the novelty confirms that the American auto giant is preparing a global reform for Mondeo and Fusion.
It has already been reported that Ford is planning to release a completely new crossover in the European market. This model should immediately replace three cars – Mondeo, S-Max and Galaxy. And photo spies managed to take pictures of the prototype of the new model. Based on the photos, we can conclude that the novelty has a body from the Focus Estate model, and many options and specifications are borrowed from Ford Mondeo. It is expected that the novelty will have an increased wheelbase. The raised suspension and significantly increased wheel arches hidden by a layer of camouflage are also striking.
According to a source, the car is based on the Ford C2 platform, which is used in the Focus model. This platform is very flexible and can be used both in the compact Fiesta and in the overall Edge SUV.
It is already known that the motor range of the novelty will be very wide. The choice will be available gasoline and diesel engines, as well as a hybrid power plant, the basis of which will be a 1.5-liter turbo engine. The versatility of models is at the heart of Ford’s new development program. The company hopes that the new crossover in sales will surpass the Mondeo, S-Max and Galaxy models combined. At the same time, production costs will be much lower.
