Crossover Ferrari will receive a hybrid installation based on the V8 engineMarch 7, 2018
The company Ferrari is developing a hybrid power plant based on the eight-cylinder gasoline engine. This is with reference to the head of the Italian brand Sergio Marchionne reports Auto Express. It is assumed that the new unit will be used on the first crossover of the supercar manufacturer.
“The hybrid Ferrari with the installation based on the V8 engine will appear in 2019. We have already started testing prototypes, “Marchionne said. The novelty will be the second in the history of Ferrari with a combined power plant after the hypercar of LaFerrari, which was based on a 12-cylinder unit.
As expected, the new hybrid scheme is used in the future crossover of the company, which will appear next year. Such a car will compete with Lamborghini Urus, as well as with the new version of Bentley Bentayga – PHEV, which debuted at the Geneva Motor Show.
According to unofficial data, the crossover will stand on the new aluminum architecture, which will also form the basis of the supercar – the successor to the GTC4 Lusso. The cost of an all-terrain vehicle, will become the most popular model of the Italian company, will be about 300 thousand euros.
