Crossover Cupra Ateca received a “charged” version
September 14, 2019Ateca Special Edition became the first “charged” crossover brand Cupra.
Previously, only the most powerful representatives of the Spanish brand Seat received the Cupra prefix to the name. Last year, Cupra split off from its parent company Seat and became an independent brand.
Cupra Ateca comes standard with adaptive suspension, 19-inch wheels, digital dashboard, all-round cameras and an 8-inch multimedia system.
The novelty, which received the Special Edition prefix, received minimal changes, the main part of which fell on the exterior of the car – he became the owner of a spoiler and carbon fiber side mirror housings. In addition, a new exhaust system with a reduced mass and four twin-pair tailpipes, as well as original alloy wheels with a diameter of 20 inches, combining black and copper colors, were offered for the crossover. Of the changes in the interior, only new seat upholstery using Alcantara can be distinguished, as well as new floor mats.
In technical terms, changes did not happen at all. The Spanish crossover retained a 2.0-liter 300-hp turbo engine, working in tandem with the proprietary 7-band “robot” DSG. Four-wheel drive Cupra Ateca Special Edition accelerates to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 245 km / h.
