So, in 2014, a revocation of the key was announced, which is used in models starting in 2010. Due to the unsuccessful design, the key was easily rotated in the lock if the driver touched it with his knees. At the same time, the engine could turn off while driving, at the same time the airbags and the power steering were turned off.
Consumer Reports notes that the manufacturer again revokes the same key, as one of the company’s employees found that they can still be purchased at General Motors as a spare part. Alternatively, you can find it from a supporter of suppliers. “It is outrageous that General Motors left its customers in danger more than 5 years after the recall. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration must understand the reason this was not detected or not reported before. If General Motors has violated the law, the NHTSA must impose a large fine to prevent similar actions in the future, ”the magazine notes.
General Motors notes that the company did not receive reports of accidents, injuries or loss of life due to defective keys.
