Concern VAG doubled deliveries of electric cars in the first half of the yearJuly 21, 2021
According to general statistics, the total results of all brands owned by Volkswagen turned out to be twice as high as last year.
The German concern Volkswagen has reported record deliveries of electric vehicles of its controlled brands, automotiveworld.com reports.
At the moment, the concern continues its systematic development in the field of electric transport. In a short time, VAG was able to master in production such models as: Volkswagen ID.4, Volkswagen ID.6, ŠKODA Enyaq iV, Audi Q4 e – tron, Audi Q4 Sportback e – tron, Audi e – tron GT and Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo. The constant expansion of the model range also contributed to an increase in consumer demand, which especially accelerated in the second quarter.
In total, in the first six months, VAG delivered about 170,939 electric vehicles, which is more than double the same figures for the previous year.
Hybrid cars are also worth noting, the number of which is also increasing significantly. During these six months, about 171,300 of these machines have been delivered. The growth was an unprecedented 204.2 percent.
The main market for electrified models of the VAG concern is Europe. It accounts for almost 75 percent of all deliveries (128 thousand units). At the same time, Volkswagen managed to occupy as much as 26% of its electric vehicle market.
The situation is much poorer in the United States, where the concern was able to deliver 18,514 vehicles, thus America accounted for 10.8% of Volkswagen’s global deliveries. Absolutely similar figures are shown by the largest car market in China. Recall that several electric vehicles were created specifically for the Celestial Empire.
