Complete sets and prices for the new Honda e publishedAugust 28, 2019
Honda has confirmed that the new Honda e electric citycar will be equipped with a 36 kW lithium-ion battery providing mileage of over 200 km.
The company revealed several important details about the new electric car and its battery. So, the battery is located in the center of the car floor to provide a 50:50 weight distribution, which should help in managing the rear-wheel drive model. It is also cooled by water to ensure optimal operating temperature and, therefore, to ensure the highest mileage.
Honda says its new electric car can be charged using a conventional AC charger or CCS2 DC quick charge plug (80% of the charge is promised in 30 minutes).
You can order a Honda e now, and the production version will be presented at the end of 2019, but a few months after that, the car will appear at dealerships. Representatives of the brand also confirmed the range of colors: in addition to pearl white, which we have already seen, the color scheme will include lime green and dark blue.
Jean-Europe Strang, Honda Europe’s general manager for the automotive industry, added that more than 31,000 people in Europe have pre-ordered the model.
While the Urban EV concept was distinguished by giant multi-spoke wheels, the production car has more modest rims. 17-inch e Prototype wheels are available on request. They will be an option on top-end cars; 16th will be standard. They still have relatively wide, by the standards of the car, tires, which gives the Citicar some sportiness.
There is no official information about the prices for the new product yet, but the company said that Honda will not be cheap. Given the range of the model, it turns out that the Japanese electric car will be more expensive than competitors, in which the range on one battery charge is much larger. The company indicates that the car is equipped much better – the citycar received cameras instead of mirrors and giant dual 12.3-inch touch screens.
“This is a unique offer. You look at technology, especially at the interior of the car, and this puts it at a premium level. Given these features, this will be of primary importance. Innovation and confidence: this car brings Honda back to where it should be, ”says Phil Webb, head of Honda UK.
