Compact truck Honda Freed received a stylish cross-versionAugust 30, 2019
Honda has updated its Freed compact van. After restyling, the car received a number of cosmetic improvements and a cross version called “Crosstar”.
Honda Freed few people know outside of Japan, but at home it is very popular. For three years now, the second generation of the model has been offered to local motorists, now the manufacturer decided on a scheduled update. From its predecessor, the novelty differs only in new bumpers, a modified grille, other headlight housings and a bonnet cover. But the interior of the car changes bypassed.
After restyling, Honda Freed retained its previous engine range: a one and a half liter 131-horsepower aspirated, paired with a CVT, as well as a hybrid power plant. The latter is based on the same one and a half liter motor of lower power (110 hp), combined with a 30-horsepower electric engine and a seven-speed “robot”. The drive can be either front or full.
Already in the “base”, the updated compact van can count on the Honda Sensing electronic security system. It now includes the function of auto-braking when reversing, so that the driver does not accidentally hit an undetected obstacle. In addition, the Honda Freed line has become richer in the off-road modification of the Crosstar. The car in this design receives plastic lining on the bumpers and sills, a redesigned grille, silver exterior mirror housings and roof rails. In the passenger compartment, which can have three or two rows of seats, seats with combined upholstery now show off.
On sale, the updated Freed will appear in mid-October. For the actual compact in the basic version in the home market, you will have to pay $ 17,700
