Compact Renault on the basis of Kwid first drove to the cameraSeptember 11, 2018
A new model of the French brand was caught during the tests. The official premiere of the Renault one-ply is scheduled for next year.
About the fact that Renault is preparing to release a new compact, it became known in 2017, when the network posted a slide from one of the company’s presentations: the model on the picture is designated as Compact MPV, the main market for it will be India. And today the Indian edition of Team-BHP published photos of a camouflaged car. The portal claims that the images are captured specifically by Renault Renault, its in-house index is RBC, the market name is still unknown.
According to preliminary data, the model is built on the extended version of the CMF-A platform of the Renault-Nissan alliance, while the length of the novelty does not exceed four meters – such cars in India are tax breaks. Recall, the standard platform CMF-A underlies the budget hatch Renault Kwid (from 266 700 rupees) and Datsun redi-GO (from 256 300 rupees). Van will be available with a seven-seater saloon.
The Indian media are looking for a compact three-cylinder gasoline engine 1.0 with a power of 68 hp. – the same motor is equipped with Kwid and redi-GO. In hatchbacks, this engine works in tandem with a five-speed manual or robot. Also for Kwid and redi-GO there is a 54-horsepower petrol engine 0.8 with 5MKP, but MPV this engine is unlikely to get. But diesel compact can quite detach – engines on “heavy” fuel in India are still popular.
Production of MPV will be installed at the local Renault plant, the novelty should be on sale next year. Let’s note, in the Indian ruler of the brand already there is one compactvan – Lodgy (built on a well-known platform Russians B0), also local assembly. The dimensions of this model are 4498/1751/1709 mm, the wheelbase is 2810 mm (the van still has a cross-version of Stepway, it is 24 mm longer). Lodgy is presented with a seven- or eight-seater saloon, the model is equipped with a diesel engine of 1.5 dCi (85 or 110 hp), the price is from 833 299 rupees
Inner cannibalism between MPV Renault will not – Lodgy plays in another league, the new model will be much cheaper. The main competitors of the unnamed compact in India will be Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (from 634,000 rupees) and Datsun GO + (from 395,000 rupees). By the way, unlike the hatch Datsun redi-GO, the compact of the budgetary mark is created on the platform of the old Nissan Micra.
Outside of the Indian market, Renault’s compact, most likely, will not get out.
