Compact crossover Mazda MX-30 appeared on saleOctober 8, 2020
Sales of new items began at the debut car market for the brand in Japan. It is noteworthy that the debut was a hybrid, not an all-electric version.
The Japanese company Mazda has introduced a new compact crossover MX-30 to the local car market. Dealers announced the start of sales on Thursday, October 8th. Note that the car will have both an all-electric and a hybrid engine. At the same time, it was expected that the debut would take place with the “green” version.
However, it turned out the opposite – before the end of the year, buyers will be offered a hybrid version, and in January 2021 an electric version will be added to it. The Mazda MX-30 debuted in Tokyo in 2019. The novelty immediately attracted attention not only with its engines, but also with its original sporty body style. At the heart of the MX-30 is another compact crossover, the CX-30.
The basis of the hybrid version will be a 2.0-liter engine with 145 hp, which is complemented by a starter-generator. A lithium-ion battery is used to operate the electrical component.
The starting equipment for such a car will cost 2,420,000 Japanese yen
Meanwhile, it became known that Mazda has serious plans to return its rotary engine. This statement was made by the head of the Japanese automaker. It is known for sure that such an engine will receive the MX-30 model.
