Compact cross Alfa Romeo debuts in GenevaFebruary 19, 2019
The Italian brand is preparing a competitor BMW X1
Alfa Romeo is preparing for the premiere of a new compact crossover, which in the model range of the Italian brand will be located below the Stelvio. According to rumors, the new public debut will take place in early March at the Geneva Motor Show.
Information on the platform is different. Different sources claim that the short Alfa Romeo crossover will be based on a shortened version of the rear-wheel-drive Giorgio bogie, on which the Giulia sedan and the Stelvio all-wheel drive or the SCCS platform from Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X are based. In the latter case, compact cross will default to front wheel drive.
Gamma engines of the new crossover will consist of a two-liter gasoline four and a hybrid power plant. The model will also be equipped with a third-level autonomous control system.
Alfa Romeo is working on a flagship crossover. It will compete with the Audi Q7 and will receive a power plant with a capacity of more than 400 horsepower. According to preliminary information, sales of the older model will begin in 2020.
