Classic Bentley Blower was assembled from Lego partsSeptember 22, 2020
This model of the legendary Bentley Blower racing car was created by an enthusiast. It took eighteen months to create a miniature copy of a real car. This tiny car has functional parts.
Bentley celebrated its 100th anniversary last year with a limited edition of 12 pieces of the famous Blower race car. The company used modern technology to scan the body of the original car and prepare for the production of modern copies. We don’t know the exact price of each of them, but we bet they are very expensive.
Fortunately, there may be a more affordable version of this iconic car on sale. It does not officially exist yet.
It is made of classic Lego bricks and Lego Technic components and needs your support on the Lego Ideas platform.
Lego Ideas is a place where enthusiasts post various designs they have created from Lego bricks that took them months to create. If a project gets 10,000 or more supporters, Lego is considering releasing the work officially.
And now about this particular project. It is equipped with a working steering gear that mimics that of the original car. The rear differential is actually linked to the engine, which basically means the engine’s crankshaft rotates when the car is pushed. As they say, small details are important.
“I started this project in August 2018, and it took me about eight months to complete,” explains the car’s creator. “I have spent countless hours redesigning every part over and over again, from rebuilding the entire chassis to small engine parts, to most accurately recreate the legendary sports car.”
The Bentley Blower project currently has nearly 6,100 subscribers, which means it needs about 4,000 more to get the attention of Lego’s management.
Not so long ago, we wrote that Lego showed a constructor with a Lamborghini Sian hypercar. To assemble the first Lamborghini hybrid, 3,696 parts are required. The scale of the new Lego toy supercar is 1: 8.
