Citroen’s chief confirmed the release of the flagship sedanJanuary 18, 2018
Citroen will launch a new flagship sedan, which will replace the C5 and C6 models in the lineup. This is with reference to the head of the French brand Lindu Jackson, the publication of Autocar.
“It will not be the C5 of the next generation, but a new big sedan. The presence of such a car in the model line is an indispensable criterion for a company that wants to be called a really big automaker, “explained Jackson.
The head of Citroen noted that the new flagship will turn out to be special and “somewhat different”, unlike competitors. According to preliminary data, the replacement of Citroen C5 and C6 will appear in 2019 or in 2020.
It is assumed that the novelty will borrow some stylistic and technical solutions from the Cxperience, presented in autumn 2016 at the Paris Motor Show. The length of the prototype was 4.85 m, height – 1.37 m, and the size of the wheelbase is three meters.
The car was equipped with a hybrid power plant, which included a gasoline engine with a capacity of about 200 hp, a 110-hp electric motor, an eight-speed “automatic” and a battery pack. Exclusively on electric power, Citroen Cxperience can drive up to 60 kilometers.
