Citroen introduced the new Citroen C4July 1, 2020
Citroen on Tuesday, June 30, showed the new generation Citroen C4 hatchback. “5-door” will be offered with three different power units – gasoline, diesel and fully electric in the variation of e-C4.
The gasoline line of the simple C4 consists of three variants of the 1.2-liter PureTech “turbo engine” with 100, 130 and 155 hp output, the diesel – of two variants of the 1.5-liter BlueHDi turbocharged diesel engine with 110 and 130 hp output. Together with these engines, a 6-speed manual transmission or 8-speed automatic transmission functions.
The electric variation of the model has a 135-horsepower electric motor in front and a battery of 50 kW / h, providing a range of up to 350 km in the WLTP cycle. It takes only 30 minutes to recharge the battery up to 80% using a fast charging station.
Regarding the appearance of C4, in comparison with its predecessor, it has changed beyond recognition. So, the novelty received dual headlights, a relief body and lights with complex graphics.
Due to the roof, which was heavily piled back, the newly introduced cross-hatch turned out to be 76 mm longer than the Golf (4360 mm versus 4284 mm), and it also significantly exceeded its width (1800 mm versus 1789 mm) and height (1525 versus 1456 mm). The distance between the axles was 2670 mm.
The interior of the once conservative hatchback was transformed by a digital dashboard, a projection screen, a 10-inch touch screen infotainment complex and a transmission selector recessed into the central tunnel. The novelty is equipped with front seats with massage, 2-zone climate control, all-round cameras, panoramic roof, Arkamys acoustics, adaptive cruise control and much more.
The start of sales of the C4 and its electric variant is scheduled for this fall.
In addition, Citroen previously demonstrated the electric E-Spacetourer. The first deliveries of the new model in Europe are scheduled for the end of this year.
