Citroen C3L prepares for debut in ChinaMay 2, 2020
At the end of last year, the first images of the very unusual Citroen: C3L appeared in China. New images of this newcomer are published in Chinese social networks.
The C3L is a Citroen sedan designed specifically for the Chinese market that will be launched in China this year with a joint venture partner Dongfeng-Citroen. A completely new model is wonderful in every way. The car shares its technical foundation with C-Elysee, the twin brother of the Peugeot 301, which means that the hidden technology of the previous generation 208 is preserved. However, the C3L is not a car that will replace the C-Elysee, as the C3L sedan takes a completely unconventional approach.
This newcomer is a “downgraded” version of the compact C3-XR crossover that Citroen also does not offer in Europe. This makes the C3L a special option, a kind of cross-version of the sedan, Renault Logan Stepway and the much larger Volvo S60 Cross Country. The C3L is 4.51 meters long, which makes it 8 centimeters longer than the aforementioned C-Elysee. The height of the C3L is 1.51 meters.
The engine range will include a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine that delivers 116 hp, as well as a 1.2-liter version with 115 hp. The initial price of C3L is a little over 14,200 euros.
According to autoweek.nl, Chinese buyers will be able to choose from several Citroen sedans: in addition to the C3L and C-Elysse, the French automaker also offers C4L sedans, C4, C5 and C6 sedans in China.
