Citroen and German Possl have created an all-wheel drive camper for cyclists
March 3, 2019Stay in a cozy and roomy camper after a long walk? Why not! It seems that the creators of the conceptual motorhome based on the SpaceTourer minivan, which can be personally seen at the Citroen stand at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, reasoned like this.
A concept with a rather awkward designation of SpaceTourer The Citroenist will make the company another Amén one Geneva show car. Camper was created especially for promotional purposes, namely, the promotion of a new bike, which is called Rider the Citroenist by Martone. Created by Citroen in cooperation with Martone Cycling, a bike weighing only 12 kg, orders are already being taken – prices start at 950 euros. Will release it in limited edition.
Another partner of this project is Possl, a well-known German manufacturer of recreational vehicles. Actually, its masters turned the usual SpaceTourer into a camper with a mass of useful devices for long-haul outings.
In a camping configuration, such a camper can carry up to four people – two berths are available in the cabin, and two more people can spend the night on the second “tier” under a folding roof with a mosquito net. Also on board the SpaceTourer The Citroenist, special mounts are provided for carrying two bicycles.
Compared to the original minivan, the show car equipped with a 150-hp BlueHDi turbodiesel has increased ground clearance, Automotives Dangel from Alsace provided all-wheel drive for the concept.
