The former driver of the Citroen team criticized them for his dismissal, writes portal Autosport.
In May 2018, the Irishman Chris Mick had an accident on the Rally Portugal, and after – lost his place in the team. Citroen in a press release then reported that it was necessary for security reasons.
The fact is that the driver often got into an accident, and the last straw for them was an incident in Portugal. Although in the end no one was seriously hurt, the team decided to part with Chris. In an interview with AutoHedb, the driver said that he was greatly surprised by the wording of the decision, which he considered to be a frank delusion.
He also touched upon the situation in 2017, which arose after the accident at the Rally Sardinia. He noted that before the accident the car suddenly jumped. In the analysis of this point, he suggested that perhaps something is wrong with the design. Later, the flaws in it really showed up, and it took a whole year to eliminate them.
The car with a new design made its debut at the Rally Finland 2018. And Mick himself as part of the Toyota team will return to the WRC.
Earlier, Sebastian Vettel commented on the situation with a number of failures, which turned to him the loss of the championship.
