Chinese super sedan set two Nurburgring records at a timeAugust 23, 2019
528-hp Lynk & Co 03 beat charged Jaguar and Renault on the track
The Cyan Racing racing team (formerly called Polestar) tested the 528-horsepower Lynk & Co 03 prototype on the Nurburgring North Loop. The model set two new records at once – as the fastest front-wheel drive car and as the fastest four-door car of the track. The sedan drove the track in 7 minutes 20.143 seconds with an average speed of 170.4 kilometers per hour.
The Chinese sedan drove the Nurburgring three seconds faster than the 600-horsepower Jaguar XE SV Project 8, which until then was considered the fastest four-door track, and 25 seconds faster than the Renault Megane RS Trophy R, which held the title of the front-wheel drive record holder “Loops”.
The Lynk & Co 03 sedan is equipped with a two-liter four-cylinder turbo engine and a six-speed sequential transmission, capable of changing gears in 60 milliseconds. The same engineers participated in the development of the machine, who participated in the creation of power plants for the cars of the WTCC and V8 Supercars racing series. The prototype is based on the CMA Volvo platform with McPherson struts in front and a torsion beam at the rear.
The car picks up the first 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, and it reaches 200 kilometers per hour in 10 seconds. The maximum speed is 310 kilometers per hour.
The equipment of the machine includes adjustable Öhlins shock absorbers, a limited slip differential, a dual-circuit hydraulic brake system with six-piston calipers on the front axle.
